Jon Jones squares up to Dominick Reyes ahead of UFC fight

Jon Jones successfully defended his light heavyweight title against Dominick Reyes at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas at UFC 247 on Saturday.

30-year-old Reyes was undefeated coming into the bout and almost did enough to take the title from Jones, but ultimately came up short as the judges scored the bout 48-47, 48-47 and 49-46 in favour of the champion.

Jones, who sits at the top of the men’s pound-for-pound rankings in the UFC, was up against it in the early rounds but improved as the fight progressed, though many fans felt Reyes won the main event. Re-live all of the action below.

The action will soon get underway with a heavyweight clash between Derrick Lewis and Ilir Latifi.

Tonight's opening bout is Latifi's first at heavyweight in the UFC. The Swede's journey towards a light heavyweight title shot stalled after back-to-back losses in the division, prompting him to move up in weight.

Lewis (22-7, 1 NC), meanwhile, is a fan favourite with hellish power in his hands. There's a decent chance this one doesn't go all three rounds...

Great reaction for Lewis from the Houston crowd, with Latifi (14-7, 1 NC) waiting in the Octagon.

Lewis is the younger man (just) at 35. Latifi turned 36 yesterday, and will no doubt be hoping he can celebrate properly after this contest! More easily done if he's not knocked out by Lewis, of course.

No punches thrown in the first minute, but the men clinch and Lewis drives Latifi against the cage.

Latifi looks for a right hand as the pair separate, but it's a little wild and misses. Before long the heavyweights are again clinching along the fence, but this time it's Latifi initiating.

Referee Dan Miragliotta pulls the men apart for inactivity in the clinch, to the delight of the crowd.

No big strikes landing for either fighter so far, but any time Lewis throws, the fans light up.

More clinching at the moment though.
