Manchester United host Sevilla in the second leg of their last-16 Champions League clash, with both sides in with a chance of progression to the quarter-finals following the 0-0 draw in the first leg.

Fresh off the back of a 2-1 victory over rivals Liverpool, giving United the unquestionable edge in finishing second in the league, Mourinho’s side will fancy their chances on Tuesday night, as they look to continue their strong run of form in 2018, which includes just two defeats in 13, and advance to the quarter finals of the Champions League for the first time since 2014.

Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba remain doubtful for the second leg clash, with both players not featuring at the weekend against Liverpool. Earlier this week Michael Carrick confirmed his retirement from football at the end of the season, and United will be looking to give the midfield veteran a fitting send-off by potentially winning the competition for the second time in Carrick’s career.

It’s a big game for…

Marcus Rashford. After scoring a brace against Liverpool in his first start of 2018, Tuesday night could present Rashford with yet another opportunity to prove his worth for both club and country. If he is given a starting berth, the youngster will no doubt be looking to capitalise on his chance, and scoring in back-to-back games at Old Trafford would no doubt boost his chances for nailing down a more permanent position at United in the build-up to the World Cup in Russia.

Scott McTominay. The two sides meet for this Last 16 encounter finely poised after a goalless draw at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium three weeks ago. United have the home advantage but know that an away goal for the Spaniards will make for a very tricky evening. We have a good squad and when everybody is available, we have a lot of options. We believe that Marouane (Fellaini) has the qualities that can be important to the way in which want to start this game.

Home advantage was something that played very well for them in Seville, and hopefully now our people can give us a push. If we win, we go through. If we don't win, we watch the quarter-finals on the television.

David de Gea was lauded after his display in the first leg in Andalusia in which he claimed a 19th clean sheet of the season and made several top class, none better than the one that kept out Luis Muriel's first half header.

The Spanish stopper will once again be key if Manchester United are to deny Sevilla from notching a vital away goal.

…and note that Jose Mourinho has made two changes to the Manchester United team that edged past Liverpool on Saturday. Marouane Fellaini comes into the side for his first start since November 22nd while Jesse Lingard gets the nod further forward. Scott McTominay and Juan Mata drop to the bench where they are joined by the returning Paul Pogba.

Vincenzo Montella, meanwhile, makes one change to the Sevilla team that drew with United 20 days ago. Danish defender Simon Kjaer is back in contention and gets the nod as the Italian coach shuffles his pack with the former Manchester City man Jesus Navas out injured.
