Wimbledon Day 11: Anderson beats Isner as Djokovic leads Nadal

Novak Djokovic has won his fourth Wimbledon title today after he beat Kevin Anderson in the men’s singles final.

Both finalists played record-breaking, energy-sapping five-set semi-finals to reach the tournament's finale. But Anderson's six-hour-36-minute duel with John Isner at least finished on the day it started on Friday.

Djokovic's thriller against long-time rival Rafael Nadal lasted a mere five hours 15 minutes, but only three sets of that could be completed before the Wimbledon curfew at 11 pm on Friday, and the pair had to come back on Saturday to finish off before the women's final.

But the Serb had enough in the tank to see off the South African in three sets.

Great Britain's Alfie Hewett and Gordon Reid completed a hat-trick of Wimbledon wheelchair doubles titles on Saturday.

They beat Belgium's Joachim Gerard and Sweden's Stefan Olsson 6-1 6-4 to take the trophy for a third consecutive year.

Victory on Court Three provided a decent consolation for Hewett, who missed out on a place in the singles final when he lost to defending champion Olsson.

Djokovic jealous of Anderson's day off despite the South African playing in a six and a half hour semi-final

Kevin Anderson beat John Isner in an epic match on Friday which lasted six and a half hours and was decided by a 26-24 game win in the final set,

Novak Djokovic beat Rafael Nadal over two days in a five set win and has not had the traditional day to recover, something Anderson will have no doubt been very appreciative of.

"Well, Kevin also had quite a few hours on the court in the last couple matches," said Djokovic.

"But he had a day off, which is quite necessary at this stage. I wish I could have a day. But it is what it is. I'll just have to accept the circumstances and try to recover as best as I can."

How will World Rankings change?

If Anderson wins, he will rise to a career-high ranking of fourth in the world. By reaching the final the South African has ensured he will crack the world's top five for the first time in his career.

Djokovic will be back in the top 10 if he wins. A year of injuries have kept him away from the sport for a while, leaving the former world number one seeded 12th.

His match with John Isner was one of the greatest, if not longest, Wimbledon semi-finals, an epic six and a half hour contest ended with Anderson winning the fifth set 26-24.
