Wolves vs Arsenal LIVE: Premier League result and final score after Martin Odegaard sends Gunners top
Wolves 0-2 Arsenal: Odegaard wrapped up the win in stoppage time as the Gunners responded to back-to-back defeats
Goals from Leandro Trossard and Martin Odegaard gave Arsenal a gritty 2-0 win over Wolves that sent them back to the top of the Premier League table after a game that otherwise won’t live long in the memory.
Arsenal lead on 74 points, one point ahead of Manchester City, who have a game in hand having beaten Chelsea 1-0 earlier on Saturday to reach the FA Cup final. Liverpool are in third place on 71 points, also with a match in hand on the Gunners.
Trossard broke the deadlock just before the break after a scrappy first half, Wolves defender Santiago Bueno steering the ball into his path while trying to dispossess Gabriel Jesus and the Belgian lashed it into the net off the right-hand post.
Knocked out of the Champions League in the last eight by Bayern Munich in midweek, Arsenal dominated the second half but it took until the fifth minute of stoppage time for them to score again, through Odegaard from a tight angle.

Trossard again makes the incisive run, powering towards the penalty spot to try and meet Saka’s driven cross. This time he’s able to make contact with the delivery, but Santiago Bueno’s tight marking deflects the ball out for a throw.

Odegaard finds White free on the right wing, with the defender pulling back a lovely, low cross in to the feet of Trossard on the penalty spot. The winger meets it with a swing of the leg but misses his strike entirely, allowing Kilman to sweep it away.

Kiwior’s heavy touch allows Doherty to cut across and steal the ball from the foot of the left-back, before embarking on a slaloming run that promptly ends with Odegaard stepping in and poking it away on the opposite flank.

Hwang and Chirewa interchange the ball with lovely pace on the edge of the penalty area, before the latter takes the opportunity to shoot from 18 yards out. It’s a curling effort but a deflection on the way through Gabriel takes the sting out of the shot, with Raya making the easy catch.

JUST WIDE! Trossard plays a give-and-go with Havertz inside the Wolves penalty area, with the Belgium international taking up a position near the byline. He looks up and picks out Rice on the edge of the penalty area, with the midfielder hammering a shot that whistles wide of the post!

Kilman’s loose pass across the edge of his own 18-yard box is deflected by Havertz, who sticks out a leg to prod the ball forward. Jesus looks likeliest to latch onto the ball with only Sa to beat, but the goalkeeper is quick off his line to win the race and prevent a shot on target.

With just over a quarter-hour gone, Arsenal have already fashioned five shots, with three forcing Sa into saves. They’ve created an expected goals of 0.22 in that time as well, but have yet to really put the goalkeeper under significant pressure.
