Wolves vs Arsenal LIVE: Premier League result and final score after Martin Odegaard sends Gunners top
Wolves 0-2 Arsenal: Odegaard wrapped up the win in stoppage time as the Gunners responded to back-to-back defeats
Goals from Leandro Trossard and Martin Odegaard gave Arsenal a gritty 2-0 win over Wolves that sent them back to the top of the Premier League table after a game that otherwise won’t live long in the memory.
Arsenal lead on 74 points, one point ahead of Manchester City, who have a game in hand having beaten Chelsea 1-0 earlier on Saturday to reach the FA Cup final. Liverpool are in third place on 71 points, also with a match in hand on the Gunners.
Trossard broke the deadlock just before the break after a scrappy first half, Wolves defender Santiago Bueno steering the ball into his path while trying to dispossess Gabriel Jesus and the Belgian lashed it into the net off the right-hand post.
Knocked out of the Champions League in the last eight by Bayern Munich in midweek, Arsenal dominated the second half but it took until the fifth minute of stoppage time for them to score again, through Odegaard from a tight angle.

Saka plays Arsenal’s first corner of the match short to Jesus, before getting it back and distributing the ball to Rice. The midfielder picks out Odegaard inside the penalty area but the captain is unable to find the target with his shot, with Santiago Bueno again able to block it.

Odegaard winds up and hits a powerful shot from 20 yards out but Santiago Bueno slides across with his arms behind his back and takes the effort directly in the chest, preventing Sa from being called into action dutifully.

Saka takes up a central position and plays a pass through the heart of the Wolves defence for the run of White. The full-back manages to keep it in play ahead of the byline and dig out a cross for Trossard but Gomes wins it before play is blown dead for offside.

In need of a goal, Wolves will be forced into attacking changes, with both Ait-Nouri and Sarabia fit and available from the bench. Lemina could also prove an option in midfield, with both his ball-winning and knack for goals an asset as they look to overcome the deficit. Arsenal will know that a single goal won’t be enough to guarantee the three points, with Martinelli capable of playing on both flanks. When Arteta feels ready to hold onto the result however, Jorginho will almost certainly be introduced to control the tempo.

Arsenal take a slender lead 1-0 into the half-time interval at Molineux, with Trossard’s finish on the stroke of 45 minutes all that separates the sides. As expected, the visitors saw more of the ball, created more shots than their opponents, and lead in expected goals (0.46 to Wolves’ 0.11) with Arteta’s side looking to regain some after a pair of defeats. It was Wolves, however, who created the best chance after 40 minutes played, with Gomes’ close-range effort from an acute angle somehow pushed onto the frame of the goal by Raya. Arsenal finally made the most of an opportunity just before added time, with Trossard - the Gunners’ most incisive player in the first half- somewhat fortuitously finding the inside of the post with a strike from 18 yards out.
