They could have been contenders.

Actually, for the best part of last season, they were. Yet decades from now, when the memories of a few Tottenham fans have faded and they look back on 2015/16 in the history books, the record will suggest they were merely also-rans.

Mauricio Pochettino's side finished 11 points behind Leicester City, the eventual champions, despite breathing down their necks for all but the final few weeks.

Third place, and a finish behind Arsenal, did not feel like a true reflection of this team's talent. Having come so close to a first Premier League title, can Spurs recover? In the immortal words of another who came so close, will they 'go again'?

Here are some of the highlights from Tottenham’s fixture list to look out for:

First game

Tottenham will face Everton at Goodison Park on 13 August 2016.

Last game

Tottenham will play against Hull City at the KC Stadium on 21 May 2017.
