Liverpool vs Sevilla - as it happened: Jurgen Klopp's men at Anfield in disappointing 2-2 draw
Relive all the action from Wednesday's Champions League clash
Liverpool need a good result against Sevilla on Wednesday night in their opening Champions League game, not only to get off to a decent tart but to eradicate the memory of Saturday 5-0 humiliation at the hands of Manchester City.
Indeed a victory over the Andalucian side will stand Jurgen Klopp's side in very good stead for the rest of the group stage, as the Spaniards are their only real challengers for top spot in Group E. Maribor and Spartak Moscow are the other sides making up the numbers.
Sevilla will be no pushovers though, having made a good start to their season so far, picking up seven points from a possible nine to sit third in La Liga behind Barcelona and Real Sociedad.
Plus their team is packed with some seriously European pedigree and familiar faces like Ever Banega, Wissam Ben Yedder and former Premier League men Steven N'Zonzi, Jesus Navas and Nolito.
Liverpool, meanwhile, haven't lost to anyone at Anfield since Sam Allardyce's Palace won there in April and have a pretty much full strength squad to choose from, as well as some lad called Philippe Coutinho.

It's a big game for...
Sadio Mane. The Senegalese wing wizard was sent off harshly/rightly (depending on who you believe) after kicking Man City goalkeeper Ederson in the face on Saturday and will be banned for three domestic game after seeing his appeal against the red card rejected. He'll be looking to maintain the sort of form that saw fans and pundits alike pandering over him in the weeks leading up to last weekend's sending-off.
Player to watch...
Nolito. Back in Spain after a season at Man City that some might consider a disappointment and already back amongst the goals, having scored during Sevilla's 3-0 win over Eibar at the weekend. Like team-mates N'Zonzi and Jesus Navas he has experience of playing in the Premier League although he never featured at Anfield for City.

Creating chances was of no difficulty for Jurgen Klopp's side but the manager will be hugely frustrated Liverpool couldn't add to their lead when 2-1 up. Conversely, that was a lesson on how to play away from home in Europe by Sevilla who will be delighted with the outcome.
'We need to be more ruthless'
Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson to BT Sport: "I thought we could have took the three points with the chances we created. They got us twice on the counter attack. I thought the lads put in a good shift after the weekend. We wanted to win the ball back quickly at home with the crowd behind us.
"I think overall there's a lot of positives to come out of the game but we're disappointed to not get the three points.
"Roberto's scored penalties for us before, we had plenty more chances to score. we need to be more ruthless and go three or four up. We need to continue that performance level and we'll start winning games."
Here's the rest of the results from around Europe this evening including Maribor's surprise draw against Spartak Moscow in the other game in Group E.
'It doesn't feel too good'
Jurgen Klopp to BT Sport: "85/86 minutes it was a winning performance. We had answers for pretty much everything but the goals. Pretty much the rest was good.
It was an exciting game, everyone saw out passion. It's still a point and we know we have to improve but there's so much potential. It's a draw, it doesn't feel too good and we have to take it like it is. I'm not sure frustrated is the right word, it's not cool."
That's all from an exciting evening of football at Anfield where Liverpool will be gutted to not take three points into the next round of fixtures.
One last thing, here's five things we learned from the 2-2 draw:
