Real Madrid present Eden Hazard: Presentation of new signing at Bernabeu after £89m transfer from Chelsea
Real Madrid presented Eden Hazard at the Bernabeu as 50,000 welcomed him to the Spanish capital.
Cristiano Ronaldo's arrival in 2009 drew around 70,000 supporters to the stadium, but Madrid pushed that close with Hazard's arrival, as the first statement signing the club have made for some time.
Hazard completed his transfer from Chelsea this week for an initial fee of £89m, which could rise to as much as £150m with add-ons. He joins Luka Jovic among several new arrivals as Madrid look to revitalise the team under returning manager Zinedine Zidane.
What time is the presentation?
Eden Hazard is set to be presented between 6-7pm BST.
Have you spoken to Courtois? "I had quite a few chats with Thibaut. He said I should jump at the opportunity, it is the best club in the world."
Sky Sports ask if he can go on to be the best player in the world. He replies to this one in English, having spoken French for most of the evening. "I will try to be the best team in the world, not just the player. It's a different level. I had a lot of success with Chelsea and I want to win with Madrid. It's a new challenge but I'm ready for that."
Hazard reveals he met Florentino Perez at a presentation in London and he joked that it was a good time to move to Real Madrid.
Are you a Galactico? "No. Maybe one day, I'd like to be considered a Galactico. I'm Eden Hazard, and I have to start a new chapter here. I think I'm a very good player, but not a Galactico."
The Ballon d'Or? "Maybe one day I might win it, but it's at the back of my mind, it's not something I think about . It's more important the club win titles."
Eden Hazard says there is room for improvement for himself personally. Asked about Real Madrid's season: "To be honest I was fully focused on Chelsea and their season. I know it's been a season of highs and lows because of the success the club enjoyed the past five years, but that's normal. I'm sure the hunger now is even greater."
He finishes by saying how the Premier League is different to La Liga in terms of style, but it doesn't mean one is better than the other. And that's that, he's off.
