Manchester United made it three wins in a row in the Premier League as Jadon Sancho’s first-half goal earned them victory over Leicester, who remain bottom of the table and without a win in five matches this season.
Sancho showed great composure to round Leicester goalkeeper Danny Ward and finish a fine Untied move on 23 minutes. Leicester responded after the break - they needed to after a flat first-half performance under Brendan Rodgers - and James Maddison went close.
But United made changes late on to close it out, with Casemiro and Cristiano Ronaldo brought on. Ronaldo, who will now stay at United as the transfer window closes, missed a couple of chances but the result moves Ten Hag’s side up to fifth in the table.

48 mins: Leicester’s play tonight reminds me a lot of Manchester United a year ago. It’s slow and sluggish and severely lacking confidence.

Justin gets the ball again on the right wing and keep it in play. Malacia flies out once more and takes out the Leicester defender. This time he picks up a yellow card.

38 mins: Rashford carries the ball down the right side for Man Utd before cutting inside and pulling the ball back to Jadon Sancho. Sancho brings it under control and lets fly only to see his effort blocked.

35 mins: Chance! Harvey Barnes cuts inside from the left wing and looks to curl a shot into the far top corner. David De Gea lets the effort go but looks a little worried as he tracks the ball.
There’s no need though as Barnes’ effort curls around the wrong side of the post.
