Manchester United host CSKA Moscow tonight with a place in the last 16 of the Champions League all but guaranteed. Assuming FC Basel comprehensively beat Benfica, Jose Mourinho’s men need to avoid a 6-0 defeat at the hands of their Russian opponents – a result that seems unlikely by all accounts. Still, United will be keen to end their group stage campaign on a positive note.

What time does it start?

The game kicks off at 7.45pm on Tuesday 5 December at Old Trafford.

Where can I watch it?

The game will be broadcast on BT Sport 2. Coverage starts at 7pm.

It’s a big game for…

Romelu Lukaku. The Belgian is set to lead United’s line once again after Mourinho confirmed on Monday that Zlatan Ibrahimovic is not yet ready to start. With Ibrahimovic back on the scene though, the pressure is on for Lukaku to prove his worth – though a run of 12 games with just one goal to his name certainly won’t help his cause. In a match that Mourinho will want to see his side dominate, Lukaku needs to step up to the mark and deliver.

1' - We are underway in Manchester!

4' - Off the post! Romelu Lukaku controls the ball really well from Juan Mata's lofted pass and after a short run plays Marcus Rashford through on goal with a lovely reverse through ball. The 20-year-old can't find the back of the net though as his scuffed left-footed shot hits the inside of Igor Akinfeev's far post and comes back out.

11' - CSKA Moscow looked really bright in the first three or four minutes of the game but United have grown into it and look the more likely team to open the scoring. Since Rashford's early effort that hit the post, both Antonio Valencia and Daley Blind have had well-struck efforts on goal blocked.

15' - Chance! Juan Mata shows sublime skill to pluck Daley Blind's long ball out of the air down the left wing before playing the ball inside to Marcus Rashford, who takes a touch and attempts to shape the ball into the far corner. Igor Akinfeev is equal to the effort though and parries the shot away.

20' - What an effort! Luke Shaw almost gives United the lead with a stunning volley but his effort from Antonio Valencia's cross is saved by Igor Akinfeev down to his left.

That would've been a great way to kick-start his season.

22' - Luke Shaw has looked superb in these early stages.

After almost opening the scoring a couple of minutes ago he comes close to teeing up Marcus Rashford for a tap-in but his square ball across the face of the six-yard box has just a little too much on it for the England forward.

26' - Vitinho has a rare shot for the visitors but his strike from the edge of the penalty area is high and wide of Sergio Romero's goal.
