Match preview
In the build up to the game, Mourinho has played down talk of a rift with Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
“The story is always the same. In some positions, when you don't have injuries, you have lots of options in other positions,” Mourinho said.
“In this moment, we have Pogba, Marouane Fellaini, Ander Herrera, Nemanja Matic and Scott McTominay.
“So I can imagine, next week, you are going to ask – why is this player not playing?
“Micki is not playing because we had lots of options for that match. I decided to play Marcus Rashford and Martial together.
“For many weeks, the question was – why do they not play together? Now, the question is why is Micki not playing.
“The answer is very simple – until the international board change the rules, I can only start with 11!”

Half-time - Basel 0-0 Manchester United
The referee brings a close to the opening period. United have been the dominant side but they don't have anything to show for it just yet.
Will they turn to this man to break the deadlock after the break?
Half-time scores from around Europe
- CSKA Moscow 2-0 Benfica (full-time)
- Qarabag 0-4 Chelsea (full-time)
- Anderlecht 0-0 Bayern
- Atletico 0-0 Roma
- Basel 0-0 Manchester United
- Juventus 0-0 Barcelona
- PSG 4-1 Celtic
- Sporting 2-0 Olympiakos
47' - Basel produce their best attacking moment of the match just after the break as Mohamed Elyounoussi comes agonisingly close to meeting right-back Michael Lang's cross at the far post.
At the other end Romelu Lukaku heads wide from Anthony Martial's cross.
50' - United are rather unlucky to concede a free-kick on the edge of the penalty area as the ball is smacked against Matteo Darmian's arm from point-blank range. Marek Suchy takes it and his delivery is cleared as far as Geoffroy Serey Die, whose well-struck driven effort goes wide of Sergio Romero's near post.
Basel have started this second half with more intent than they showed in the entire opening period.
54' - Mohamed Elyounoussi drives forward for Basel before shooting from distance but his effort deflects off Marcos Rojo and straight into the arms of Sergio Romero.
57' - It looks like United might end up regretting not capitalising on their first-half dominance. Basel have been by far the better team since the interval.
62' - United really have been poor since the break. They've given away a couple of free-kicks in very dangerous positions after clumsy fouls from Daley Blind and Marouane Fellaini. Thankfully for the visitors, both free-kicks have come to nothing.
