Meanwhile Luton Town are making their first appearance in the Premier League, having risen from non-league in an incredible decade of progress. They followed Championship winners Burnley and second-placed Sheffield United in earning promotion to the top flight.

Brighton put three points on the board after their first game, and turn their attention to their trip to Wolves next weekend. Luton's first-ever Premier League game ends in defeat, and they're not in action for two weeks due to their home game against Burnley being postponed due to the work being done at Kenilworth Road. They'll face Chelsea in their next game.

Brighton's season gets off to a winning start as they beat newly-promoted Luton 4-1. They led 1-0 at the break through March's headed goal but could've had more as Pedro spurned a glorious chance from close range and Welbeck hit the post. Pedro did double their lead in the second, winning a penalty and then converting it, before Morris pulled one back from the spot at the other end after Dunk's handball. Adringa latched onto a mistake at the back to restore their two-goal cushion, with Ferguson then hitting the post a minute later. He added a fourth late in stoppage time, sliding in to score at the far post.

Luton are looking to make a strong finish to the game as they keep Brighton penned back in their own half. Giles finds space to clip in another cross from the left, but this one is too close to Steele.

GREAT SAVE! Luton are looking to pull another goal back here as it's nodded back across the box by Woodrow. He picks out Morris, who hits it on the volley just inside the box, and Steele stretches to tip it over.

We're into seven added minutes at the end of the game, as Brighton push forward once more. Their corner is taken short to Estupinan, who curls it into the far post, but it's just too high for Dunk.

GOOD SAVE! It's another brilliant throughball into the box by Estupinan to pick out Gross' run. He checks back, leaving Lockyer on the floor and he hits a low shot at the near post, but Kaminski gets down to deny him.
