Fetterman hires George Santos on Cameo to troll Senator Menendez

Former Congressman George Santos is selling videos on Cameo, the site where celebrities offer short greetings for a fee.

Mr Santos was expelled from the House on Friday after more than a hundred Republicans joined almost all Democrats in voting to remove him from the chamber.

The 35-year-old describes himself as a “former congressional ‘Icon’” on the site, where he charges $200 per video. In one message, he told the buyer to “live life, laugh, and let the haters hate because they’re always gonna hate”.

Options to request include holiday messages, birthday wishes, some gossip, a pep talk, a roast, or some advice.

Pennsylvania Democratic Senator John Fetterman’s social media team sent in a request for Mr Santos to do a pep talk for “Bobby from Jersey” in reference to New Jersey Senator Bob Menendez who stepped down as chair of the foreign relations committee after being indicted for allegedly taking bribes and acting as a foreign agent.

Mr Santos has joined only a handful of lawmakers ever ousted from their role, following a damning 56-page report from the House Ethics Committee which outlined “substantial evidence” that Mr Santos violated federal law.

Fetterman uses George Santos’s new Cameo service to troll Senator Menendez

Pennsylvania senator John Fetterman took advantage of expelled congressman George Santos’s Cameo service to deliver a message to fellow senator Bob Menendez, who currently faces bribery charges.

“I approached a seasoned expert on the matter to give ‘Bobby from Jersey’ some advice,” Fetterman said in his caption of the selfie-shot Cameo video.

In a lively manner, Santos tells Menendez to stand his ground.

“Don’t get bogged down by all the haters,” Santos says before adding, “Merry Christmas.”

Cameo is a service that allows fans to pay public figures for personalised video messages.

John Oliver suggests George Santos’ next move: ‘The Real Housewives’

John Oliver celebrated the expulsion of George Santos from Congress last week, and suggested the lawmaker might be better suited to one popular Bravo show.

George Santos was expelled from Congress on Friday after the release of a scathing House Ethics Committee report which outlined “substantial evidence” that he had violated federal law.

In the report, Mr Santos was accused of lying about loaning personal money to his 2022 congressional campaign, then “paying himself back” for the fake loans using campaign funds.

The congressman, who was indicted on 23 federal charges in October, has made headlines in recent weeks for his diva-like remarks, claiming the report was a “dirty biased act and one that tramples all over my rights”.

Following Mr Santos’ expulsion, during his show on Friday night, Mr Oliver took aim at the congressman, expressing his disbelief at how long it has taken the House to expel him.

“Apparently it takes three tries to get rid of him – a sort of reverse-Beetlejuice situation, if you will,” he said.
