Velvet has proved a popular fabric choice in interior schemes, thanks to its ability to instantly add an air of opulence and elegance to any room.
So, it’s no surprise that so many retailers have tapped into the trend with a variety of home furnishings up for grabs, from cushions to curtains and everything in-between.

But, it’s not just the expensive brands that have noticed velvet’s rise in popularity.
Budget supermarket Aldi’s Specialbuys range has become renowned as the go-to destination to bag a homeware bargain, with recent launches including everything from a churros maker to a coffee machine and even a scalloped bed.
And the latest item making its way to the section is, you guessed it, a stylish piece of velvet furniture just waiting to elevate your home decor.
This week, the retailer is launching a seriously stylish velvet footstool by it's in house designers Kirkton House, which looks almost identical to a designer one being sold on Made.com.
But, their appearance is where the similarities end between these two pouffes because, while the Made.com version will set you back £99, Aldi’s is being sold for a far more purse-friendly price of £19.99.
If you want to get your hands on the footstool, you’re going to have to be quick because it is exclusively available to buy online, with pre-orders already being accepted ahead of the official launch on 11 February.

In our guide, this palm leaf printed style (£39, Ella James) was featured for its versatility, as it can be used both indoors and outside. "This totally tropical pouffe by Ella James is suited to both living rooms and patio spaces, making it an ideal buy for sunnier days ahead," our reviewer said.
"Painterly botanicals of palm and monstera leaves in a rich colour clash of blue and green make up its busy pattern. This one comes flat packed with an inflatable inner that’s easily blown up like a balloon. But with its fixed cylindrical structure finished with piping, and its hard-wearing (and water-repellent) polyester fabric, it keeps its shape and feels sturdy. Perfect for bringing the outside in."
