Bill Hader drops in as 'human cocaine' Anthony Scaramucci on SNL special
'You got a little bump of me, I made you feel excited, but I was out of your system too quick'
Saturday Night Live may be on its summer recess, but there's a clear anxiety over missing out on the news cycle.
Which explains why the show's just introduced its new spin-off, Weekend Update Summer Edition, which offers its writers the opportunity to make the best out of all the absurdity pouring of the White House.
It's also a chance for a few familiar and beloved faces to make an appearance, with the series' first episode seeing SNL alumni Bill Hader dropping in as Anthony "The Mooch" Scaramucci.
The show's usual flow was suddenly interrupted as Scaramucci attempted to FaceTime its hosts since, apparently, if you say his name three times he's obliged to appear like a "Goomba Beetlejuice".
"You know how you miss me, I'm like human cocaine," he said of his bizarre, brief reign. "You got a little bump of me, I made you feel excited, but I was out of your system too quick."
"The Mooch has no regrets, baby!" he added. "All I did was sell my company, miss the birth of my child and ruin my entire reputation, all to be king of Idiot Mountain for 11 days."
Weekend Update Summer Edition airs in the US on Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
