Tuesday’s ATP World Tour Finals predictions
- Novak Djokovic to win & over 19.5 games – 17/20 with William Hill
- Over 15 aces in Djokovic vs Sinner – 8/11 with bet365
- Holger Rune to beat Stefanos Tsitsipas 2-0 – 7/4 with bet365
Six-time champion Novak Djokovic was made to work hard by Holger Rune in his opening match at the ATP World Tour Finals on Sunday and faces an equally testing encounter on Tuesday in Turin.
The Serb confirmed he would finish the year ranked as the world No 1 for an eighth time with a 2-1 victory over Rune in an epic contest that finished after midnight and lasted over three hours.
It's now 19 wins in a row for Djokovic ahead of a top of the table showdown with home favourite Jannik Sinner on Tuesday.
Sinner delighted the fans with a relatively straightforward 2-0 victory over Stefanos Tsitsipas earlier on Sunday and looks primed to give Djokovic a tough examination.
Tuesday's action in the singles gets underway at 1.30pm GMT with Rune against Tsitsipas, followed by Sinner’s clash with Djokovic at 8pm and both matches are available to watch on Amazon Prime Video.
We’ve had a look at betting sites to come up with three tennis predictions for Tuesday’s action.
Novak Djokovic vs Jannik Sinner betting tips
Djokovic was far from his best in his opening game on Sunday, playing an unusually poor second set tiebreaker that Rune won to force a deciding set.
The 24-time Grand Slam champion then smashed up two rackets in the third set after a break of serve before recovering his composure to win 7-6 (7-4) 6-7 (1-7) 6-3.
Rune has often given the 36-year-old problems, winning two of their previous four meetings before Sunday’s clash, and Sinner should be no pushover either.
The Italian is 0-3 in his career against Djokovic, including a straight sets defeat in the Wimbledon semi-finals this year, but arguably enters this latest clash in the form of his career.
Sinner’s 6-4 6-4 win over Tsitsipas improved his season record to 58-14 and he arrived in Turin having won two of his previous four tournaments.
The world No 4 has the power game to thrive on the Pala Alpitour’s hard courts and should ask questions of Djokovic, who has now dropped a set in four of his last five matches.
After taking an extended break following his US Open victory, Djokovic hasn’t looked as sharp as he did in the summer, but is still finding ways to win.
Sinner’s form, skillset, mental toughness and the backing of the home fans make him quite the proposition for Djokovic to overcome, but new UK betting sites make the defending Tour Finals champion a strong favourite.
They could well be proven right in the end given Djokovic is 13-3 against top-10 ranked opponents this year, but backing a close contest is a potentially more attractive option.
A Djokovic win and over 19.5 games is 17/20 with William Hill and is our first of two Djokovic vs Sinner predictions.

Ace count could be high
One of Sinner’s biggest weapons is his serve and that was in fine working order in his win over Tsitsipas, who failed to fashion even a break point in Sunday’s clash.
Sinner sent down nine aces in that match having been a little hit and miss on the ace front recently.
But one of the best routes to upsetting Djokovic will be to avoid getting into rallies with the tenacious world No.1 and Sinner shouldn’t hold back when it's his time to serve.
The Italian has hit eight aces in the last two meetings with Djokovic, albeit both those matches were over a minimum of three sets.
Djokovic’s serve is perhaps overlooked due to his other strengths but it’s an excellent weapon and he hit 10 aces in his match with Rune.
Three of his five matches at the Paris Masters contained nine or more aces and we’re backing Djokovic and Sinner to combine for over 15 aces at 8/11 with bet365.
Djokovic vs Sinner tip 2: Over 15 aces – 8/11 with bet365
Holger Rune vs Stefanos Tsitsipas betting tips
Rune and Tsitsipas are in must-win territory if they want to reach the semi-finals after losing their opening matches, and the tennis odds make Rune the favourite to keep his ATP Finals campaign alive.
That’s not a surprise after the Dane’s strong effort against Djokovic and he appears to finally be over the back issue that hampered the second half of his season, playing well in Paris in the build-up to the Finals.
The world No 10 has won both previous meetings with Tsitsipas too, including a victory on an indoor hard court in Sweden last year.
Rune won that contest 2-0 and could repeat that straight sets success against the 2019 Tour Finals champion.
The Greek was a doubt for this event due to the recurrence of an elbow issue and didn't appear totally fit against Sinner, although he played down the suggestion he’s competing with an injury after the loss.
Even so, the world no 6 is clearly not at the top of his game and has a dreadful record against his fellow top-10 players this year, losing seven out of eight matches in straight sets.
Rune vs Tsitsipas Tip 1: Rune to win 2-0 – 7/4 with bet365
