17:30 Kempton – Royal Dream – 2pts @ 5/1

Royal Dream is amassing a solid All-Weather record in handicaps, winning two of his last four and beaten around a length on the other two occasions. Even though he has form there before, I thought Wolverhampton looked too sharp for him when he was sixth in a Racing League race in September.

The run before is the main source of interest, in which he finished third over C&D. He would have gone closer to winning had it not been for getting blocked in his run as the race was developing and he gets to run off the same mark today. Billy Loughnane is booked and hopefully they’ll be involved.

19:00 Kempton – Fivethousandtoone – 1pt e/w @ 9/1

Fivethousandtoone has fitness to prove having been off since February but there’s good prize-money up for grabs and hopefully Andrew Balding got him fit at home. If he has, it’ll be disappointing if he’s not able to at least get into one of the four places offered up with the majority of firms.

When last seen, he posted three solid efforts in a row on the All-Weather, two in handicaps off today’s mark and one in a Listed race at Lingfield. All of those efforts would put him into the frame here and if he could raise his game a small bit, I think he could be a big contender to win it out.
