Sevilla vs Arsenal betting tips:

Arsenal’s only defeat of the season came on their last Champions League away day and they appear vulnerable heading into Tuesday’s group stage clash at Sevilla.

The Spanish outfit have an excellent home record in Europe, turning over the likes of Juventus and Manchester United at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan en route to collecting a record-extending seventh Europa League crown last season.

The Andalusians recently parted company with the man who took them to Europa glory, Jose Luis Mendilibar, after a poor start to the current campaign, replacing him with Diego Alonso, who oversaw a 1-1 draw with Real Madrid in the Uruguayan’s first game in charge last weekend.

As has often been the case in recent seasons, Sevilla’s form in Europe has superseded their LaLiga efforts and they are unbeaten from their first two matches in this season’s Champions League, albeit both games finished as draws at home to Lens and away to PSV Eindhoven.

They sit one point behind Arsenal, who fell to defeat at Lens on Matchday Two and arrive in Spain off the back of a lucky escape at Chelsea.

The Gunners will need to improve significantly on those performances if they are to fly home with the three points and they hold little appeal at odds-on with UK football betting sites to defeat Sevilla.

More pain in Spain for Arsenal

Arsenal’s history in Spain makes for grim reading with just three wins from their 17 previous visits. It’s a record that includes a 3-1 defeat to Sevilla on the Gunners’ only previous visit to the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.

Having slipped up when favourites with UK betting sites to beat Lens in the previous round and not performed well at Chelsea, there are more than just a few red flags when studying the Champions League odds for this fixture.

Arsenal were far from their best against Chelsea for long periods, falling 2-0 behind before mounting an unlikely comeback to leave with a share of the spoils.

With Arsenal’s injury situation having improved during the international break, Arteta may well opt to shuffle his pack. The likes of Kai Havertz, Leandro Trossard and Takehiro Tomiyasu performed well as substitutes in the 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge and could be in line to start.

Whether that will be enough to spark a reaction from an Arsenal side that have just been lacklustre at times on the road in Europe remains to be seen with the north London outfit winless on the last three trips to the continent.

The loss to Lens came at a time when the French side were just finding their feet after a difficult start to the season, and they may be catching Sevilla at a similar juncture.

The Rojiblancos have only won two of their 12 matches in all competitions this season but have shown they are better than that record suggests.

They took Manchester City to penalties in the European Super Cup at the start of the season and put in a battling display in defeat to Spanish champions Barcelona before holding Real Madrid on Saturday night.

Alonso’s side were well-balanced and carried a threat against Real and although the new boss has a few injury worries to cope with, he has enough at his disposal to avoid defeat to Arsenal.

Only three of the last 10 English visitors to Sevilla have come away with a win and the 21/20 available with Unibet on Sevilla-draw double chance is our first pick.

Goals and Gunners go together well

Arsenal had kept four away clean sheets in a row to start the new season before shipping two at Lens in the last round of Champions League action.

They were then breached twice by Chelsea and although there’s been a clean sheet at home to Manchester City sandwiched in between, Arteta’s team have appeared vulnerable at times.

Part of the blame for that has to rest at the feet of new goalkeeper David Raya, who has superseded Aaron Ramsdale as Arsenal’s number one but has not covered himself in glory.

He was caught out for Mykhailo Mudryk’s goal at Chelsea and was particularly skittish against the Blues, failing to inspire confidence in those around him.

For all of Sevilla’s issues this season, they have been regular scorers, only failing to hit the back of the net twice in 12 games across all competitions.

Youssef En-Nesyri has found his scoring touch while summer signing Djibril Sow recently opened his account for the club.

Sevilla seem more likely to score than keep their third clean sheet of the campaign, particularly against an Arsenal side featuring Gabriel Jesus, who has scored six goals in his last 10 Champions League outings.

The Gunners have scored in 14 straight games and both teams may find the back of the net at 3/4 with BetMGM.

Tip 2: Both teams to score – 3/4 with BetMGM

Defender a standout price to test Sevilla

Sevilla have shown a vulnerability from set pieces this season – they’ve conceded from a dead ball situation in each of the last three games – and Arsenal have the players to cause them bother on Tuesday.

Central defender Gabriel’s aerial prowess has become well known and he’s odds-on with most bookmakers to have a shot having tried his luck in each of Arsenal’s two previous Champions League games this season.

But William Hill are offering even-money on him having at least one shot and that’s worth considering given how often the Brazilian has a strike at goal.

Gabriel scored three times last season and averaged just shy of one shot per game across all competitions. He will make a nuisance of himself in the Sevilla penalty area.

Tip 3: Gabriel to have at least one shot – Evens with William Hill
