Servette vs Rangers betting tips:
- Rangers to win – 6/5 with BetGoodwin
- Danilo Pereira to score anytime – 7/4 with Bet365
- Over 2.5 goals – 3/4 with Unibet
Rangers put themselves into control of this tie with a 2-1 win at Ibrox last Wednesday. However, having been two goals up after just 15 minutes and playing the final half hour against 10 men, they would’ve hoped to have been in an even stronger position heading into this match.
Servette will hope the backing they will receive at the Stade de Genève on Tuesday (7:30pm, BBC Scotland) can help them complete their comeback. It will be a tall order for a side that is winless in six matches though.
With PSV Eindhoven having beaten Sturm Graz 4-1 in the first leg of their tie, the winner of this clash can be near-certain to face the Dutch side in the next round.
Football betting sites have Rangers at 2/9 to qualify so we appear set for a rematch from the play-off round in last season’s Champions League next. Since the Scots knocked PSV out, they won’t mind that at all.
Servette vs Rangers odds: Rangers to win again
Rangers followed up their midweek victory over the Swiss side by beating Livingston 4-0 on Saturday. What will have pleased manager Michael Beale is that the goals came from four different players, meaning six of his men are off the mark for 2023/24 in all competitions.
The Gers should have too much for a team who are struggling for form, particularly on home turf. Servette have played three times in front of their own fans this season, drawing every time and needing to come from behind in two of the matches.
While they should improve upon their showing at Ibrox, almost all of the 0.9 expected goals Rene Weiler’s side generated in Glasgow came from a softly awarded penalty. Rangers won the shot count 22-8 in the first leg and will carry enough threat to ensure they can complete the job with a rare away victory in Europe.

Brazilian forward can seal the deal
Cyriel Dessers scored Rangers’ non-penalty goal in the first leg, though it’s fair to point out the ball bounced off his thigh in front of an open goal. It was hardly an unerring finish but at least he managed to score unlike Sam Lammers, who wasted a very good chance to put the Gers 3-0 up.
The latter recovered to bag the opener against Livingston on Saturday, before Danilo Pereira, Abdallah Sima and Kieran Dowell also found the net.
Rangers’ number 99 Danilo has been carrying the most sustained threat from these players, having fired off six efforts last time out and four in the previous game against Servette.
Going back to the end of last season, the former Feyenoord man has three goals in his previous five appearances, from just 232 minutes on the pitch. The Brazilian looks very capable of scoring in Switzerland to help Rangers over the qualification line.

Another high scoring game is on the cards
There were three goals in the first half of the first leg and there should be a few in this match too.
Both teams have scored in all seven matches Servette have played in all competitions this season, which helps explain why five of them have ended all-square.
While this has only occurred in one match for Rangers this term (which was against the Swiss side), it has been a feature of their away games in 2023. Their final league game of last season was a 3-0 win at St Mirren, but four of the five prior to that saw the Gers both score and concede.
A bet on both teams to score in this match would be perfectly sensible. However, betting sites make the odds for there being over 2.5 goals slightly better and that seems likely too.
After all, a bet of that nature paid out in seven of Rangers’ final eight away league games in 2022/23, and in two of their three matches so far this term (albeit both were at Ibrox).
Servette may be satisfied with a 1-0 win which would force extra time. But with no clean sheets this season, there should be a few goals as any for Rangers only increases the home side's need and will open the game up.
