Premier League betting tips:

The Premier League was tantalisingly poised when the pause button was hit for a brief international hiatus and is all set to make a triumphant comeback this weekend.

Saturday lunchtime’s Merseyside derby is the headline attraction, but UK betting sites are braced for a busy few days with the games spread across Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

There are five 3pm kick-offs to look forward to, including former Bournemouth boss Gary O’Neil taking his new charges Wolves to his old stomping ground, aiming to make life even more uncomfortable for his replacement.

The Premier League is enjoying an attacking revolution, resulting in an average of three goals per game – a 55-year high for the English top flight.

However, we see the potential for what would be just the fourth goalless draw of the campaign at the City Ground on Saturday, before normal service being resumed at Villa Park on Sunday.

Bournemouth vs Wolves prediction

{"has_data":false}

Bournemouth’s decision to swap O’Neil for Andoni Iraola in the summer has yet to pay dividends and it’s a switch that could come back to haunt them on Saturday when they host Wolves.

Wolves went into the international break unbeaten in three, a sequence that includes a win over Manchester City and a battling draw against Aston Villa.

They are five points better off than Bournemouth, who have slipped into the relegation zone after a run of three straight league defeats, most recently losing 3-0 at Everton.

Adapting to Iraola’s all-action style of play is proving problematic and the Spaniard has concerns at both ends of the pitch.

Injuries have left him short of options in defence, while the Cherries don’t look a cohesive unit going forward, scoring one solitary home league goal this season.

Wolves have scored in each of the last seven league games and with Pedro Neto in outstanding form, they pose a significant threat at the Vitality Stadium.

Nottingham Forest vs Luton prediction

{"has_data":false}

An injury to topscorer Taiwo Awoniyi has left Nottingham Forest a little toothless in attack and they may have to work hard to break down Luton at home.

Forest managed just one shot on target in their previous home outing against Brentford, which ended 1-1, before a goalless draw at Crystal Palace.

As a result, Steve Cooper’s side have slipped below Saturday’s opponents Luton for expected goals and may be involved in a game featuring less than three goals for the sixth time in the last nine league matches.

Luton have tightened up defensively after some early hidings but continue to struggle going forward, registering fewer attempts on target as a team than Erling Haaland has managed on his own.

The Hatters may not get much out of a Forest defence improved by Murillo’s presence at centre-half and the likelihood of a repeat of the goalless draw the teams played out the last time they met at the City Ground seems relatively high.

Tip: Nottingham Forest vs Luton under 2.5 goals – 4/5 with Unibet

Chelsea vs Arsenal prediction

{"has_data":false}

After a slow start, things are looking up for Chelsea following back-to-back wins over Fulham and Burnley, and they are worth chancing to hold London rivals Arsenal on Saturday evening.

The Gunners are slight favourites in the latest Premier League odds having seen off Manchester City in their last game, a result which moved them level with Tottenham at the top of the table.

Mikel Arteta’s side have won on their last three visits to Stamford Bridge and are looking to make a little slice of Premier League history by becoming the first away side to win four on the spin at Chelsea.

Arsenal represent a serious test to Mauricio Pochettino’s young charges, but Chelsea are growing in confidence after three straight wins in all competitions.

The Blues are finally starting to take advantage of the numerous chances they’ve been creating all season with Cole Palmer and Raheem Sterling bringing some life to what had been a flagging attack.

Three of the last seven meetings between these two at Stamford Bridge have ended all square and that’s where the value may lie on Saturday evening.

Aston Villa vs West Ham prediction

{"has_data":false}

Only Brighton (2.63) and Newcastle (2.50) are averaging more goals per game than Aston Villa (2.38) this season and Sunday’s televised clash with West Ham shapes up to be a belter.

The Hammers are no slouches in front of goal either, scoring in each of the last 10 Premier League matches, but keeping only one clean sheet in that time.

Recent England call-ups Jarrod Bowen and Ollie Watkins are leading the way for their respective sides, Villa’s Watkins making it five goals in his last six games with his match-winner for England against Australia.

Those impressive attacking options, coupled with a pair of leaky defences, have helped over 2.5 goals land in a combined 12 out of 16 matches for these two teams and pairing that up with both teams to score appeals.

Tip: Aston Villa vs West Ham BTTS & over 2.5 goals – 5/6 with bet365
