Nottingham Forest will be searching for their third victory of the Premier League season on Sunday (4.30pm, Sky Sports).
Steve Cooper’s side were beaten 2-0 by Manchester City last weekend and they will be hoping for a return to winning ways here.
Meanwhile, Brentford have lost three consecutive matches in all competitions and will be seeking to get back on track at the City Ground.
Football betting sites anticipate a tight encounter as Forest look to end a four-game winless streak against Brentford.
Forest vs Brentford bets: Home advantage could be key
Nottingham Forest need to ensure the City Ground is a fortress again this season.
Cooper’s men relied heavily on their home form last term with Forest having finished with the worst away record in the Premier League, winning just one of their 19 trips.
But they were pretty strong in front of their own fans, picking up more points than 10 other teams at home and just four fewer than Brighton, who had an excellent campaign.
Forest have performed valiantly on the road so far in 2023/24. They defied Premier League odds when they beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and gave a decent account of themselves in losses at Arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester City.
But Cooper knows the importance of home games for a club seeking to steer clear of relegation.
As mentioned, Brentford have lost three games on the bounce in all competitions, including two in the Premier League. They only lost three league matches in a row once last term, but that fate could befall them this weekend.
Thomas Frank’s side have still only won one game this season. Despite being such a well-run club, Brentford cannot take survival for granted.
Frank will want to see a response here but home advantage could swing this fixture Forest’s way.
Moreover, Cooper and his players have had more than a week to prepare for this game whereas Brentford had to face Arsenal in the EFL Cup on Wednesday night.

Goals could be few and far between
Ivan Toney cannot play football until the middle of January but that has not kept him out of the headlines.
The Brentford striker, who is serving a ban for breaching the FA’s betting rules, has been strongly linked with a move away from the club. The latest reports suggest Arsenal are interested.
Frank himself has admitted that the Bees are prepared to listen to offers for their talisman, although they will no doubt want to keep hold of him until next summer at the earliest.
Kevin Schade, Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa have been tasked with filling the goalscoring void.
But Brentford have found the net just once in their last three outings, while Schade has now been ruled out for several months with a groin problem.
Forest have conceded nine goals so far this campaign. When you consider they have already had to face four members of the big six, all away from home, that is a promising record.
With all that in mind, we're interested in the odds on betting sites for a low-scoring encounter.
Do not be surprised if one goal is enough to win this match.

Star man Gibbs-White to get off the mark?
Morgan Gibbs-White was Nottingham Forest’s most important player last season.
Signed from Wolverhampton Wanderers for around £35m in the summer of 2022, Gibbs-White went on to score five goals and provide eight assists.
He was crucial to Forest’s overall strategy too. Gibbs-White often led their transitions with his speed and direct running. He carried his team up the pitch, helping to relieve pressure on the defence.
Gibbs-White’s numbers at the start of this season are not particularly impressive, with no goals and one assist so far.
But it is only a matter of time before the 23-year-old breaks his duck for the campaign. Playing in front of the Forest fans, Sunday’s match could bring his first goal since May.
Tip: Morgan Gibbs-White to score any time - 4/1 William Hill
