There are four Champions League second round qualifying matches on Tuesday along with eight fixtures in the Europa Conference League and we’ve scanned the best betting sites to support our predictions.
Teams such as Panathinaikos, BATE Borisov and Slovan Bratislava are aiming to take another step in the premier Uefa competition, while Fenerbahce are among the clubs who are battling it out to make inroads in the Europa Conference League.
We’ve put together a win accumulator for Tuesday’s second leg encounters, which will hopefully give you a run for your money.
- Panathinaikos v Dnipro-1 (UCL)
- BATE Borisov v Aris Limassol (UCL)
- Slovan Bratislava v Zrinjski Mostar (UCL)
- Swift Hesperange v The New Saints (UECL)
A £10 stake on the above four teams currently returns £71.56 with Bet365.
Leg 1: Panathinaikos to beat Dnipro-1
Panathinaikos have made regular forays into the Champions League and the Greek side should take a step closer to the group stage here.
They’re on the League Path and overcame Dnipro-1 with a 3-1 win in Slovakia last week, with Ivan Jovanović’s side having finished second in the Greece Super League last season.
A packed Leoforos Alexandras Stadium in Athens will be cheering on a Panathinaikos side who were comfortably the better outfit against their Ukrainian opponents on neutral ground, with the latter scoring a late goal to keep the tie alive.
However, Dnipro’s only hope is to get on the front foot in search of two goals to restore parity. That is likely to come at a cost, especially as Panathinaikos have promising young forward Fotis Ioannidis to rely on – he should be able to get himself on the scoresheet once again.
Leg 2: Aris Limassol to beat BATE Borisov
We enjoyed a high-scoring clash between these two Champions League hopefuls last week at the Alphamega Stadium in Limassol.
The champions of Cyprus ran riot when recording a 6-2 win, with Senegalese forward Yannick Gomis bagging a brace in a comprehensive victory which means Aris are virtually certain to go through.
With a four-goal advantage over BATE, this isn’t a match that the Cypriot team need to win. That said, it’s hard to see how Borisov are going to contain a team who scored half a dozen goals past them last week, with the Mezőkövesdi Városi Stadion playing host to a game where the tie is virtually settled.
Therefore, we’ll take Aris Limassol to complete the job by securing another win, with manager Aleksey Shpilevsky wanting to see a committed performance ahead of the next test for a team who might well end up in the group stage of the competition.
Leg 3: Slovan Bratislava to beat Zrinjski Mostar
The Stadion pod Bijelim Brijegom in Mostar saw a tight encounter last week, with Zuberu Sharani’s goal separating the two teams and giving Slovan Bratislava an advantage to reach the next qualifying round of the Champions League.
The Slovakian champions should benefit from home comforts in Bratislava so we can confidently add them to our European football accumulator. Vladimír Weiss is an experienced coach who is actually enjoying a second spell at the club and he’s also been in charge of the Slovakia national football team.
Zrinjski Mostar missed some good chances in the first leg and the Croatian side now face an uphill struggle to overcome a deficit and reach the next round, especially on foreign soil.
Leg 4: Swift Hesperange to beat The New Saints
We go over to the Europa Conference League for the final leg of our football accumulator, with Swift Hesperange capable of securing a win against their Welsh opponents. We saw a 1-1 draw played out at Park Hall in Oswestry, with Simao Martins’ opener cancelled out by Rory Holden’s equaliser.
The Northern Ireland U21 striker will definitely be a handful once again, although preference is for the Luxembourg outfit who won their National Division for the first time last season. They have been heavily backed financially and were competitive against Slovan Bratislava in a Champions League clash before dropping into this competition.
The home side have enjoyed the winning habit at Stade Alphonse Theis and they should be able to edge out their opponents and claim their first ever victory in European competition.
This Europa Conference League pick forms the last leg of our Tuesday night accumulator. Be sure to check out what free bet offers are available if you intend to place a wager.
