It’s matchday four in the Europa Conference League and British representatives Aston Villa and Aberdeen both face crunch fixtures on Thursday.
Villa are level with Legia Warsaw on six points at the top of Group E after three rounds and need to keep up the pace with a victory over AZ Alkmaar ahead of the Poles' visit at the end of November.
The Villans are the Europa Conference League favourites on football betting sites and will expect to take care of business at home to AZ having beaten the Dutch side 4-1 two weeks ago.
Aberdeen are in a far more precarious position after a return of one point from three games and the Dons face elimination when they head to Greece to take on PAOK.
Having studied UK betting sites, we’ve come up with four Europa Conference League predictions, including tips for the games featuring Aston Villa and Aberdeen.
PAOK vs Aberdeen betting tips
(TNT Sports 3, 5.45pm)
Aberdeen were left to rue what might have been in the reverse fixture against PAOK at Pittodrie. Leading 2-0 with 17 minutes to play, the Dons collapsed to a 3-2 defeat which leaves them on the verge of elimination.
PAOK’s unlikely comeback maintained their 100 per cent start to the Europa Conference League and a fourth successive victory would see them secure qualification for the knockout phase.
The Greeks should be full of confidence after a 4-2 away win at Olympiacos at the weekend and boast a strong home record of seven wins from nine in all competitions in Thessaloniki this season.
PAOK recorded a 4-0 success over Aberdeen’s SPL rivals Hearts in a Europa League Conference qualifier earlier in the campaign, one of seven home clean sheets they’ve managed this season.
A steely defence, coupled with an attack that’s fresh from scoring four goals and has netted two or more goals in seven out of nine home games, could well add up to a sizeable PAOK win.
Aberdeen won’t catch PAOK off guard like they did in the first meeting and the Dons, who have lost five of their last six away games in Europe, could be in for a long night.
With our first Europa League Conference betting tip, we’re backing PAOK -1 on the handicap at 4/5 with bet365.
The Greek side need to win by two or more goals for the bet to land. A one-goal victory for the home side or any other result and the bet will lose.
Aston Villa vs AZ Alkmaar betting tips
(TNT Sports 2, 8pm)
Aston Villa’s six-game unbeaten run came to a surprise end at Nottingham Forest last Sunday as Unai Emery’s men failed to score for the first time in 11 games in the 2-0 defeat.
The Villans had been scoring for fun before their City Ground blank, particularly at home, where they’ve averaged over three goals per game across all competitions.
AZ Alkmaar know all too well how potent Villa’s attack can be after losing the reverse fixture 4-1, albeit Villa only managed five shots on targets and an xG of 1.63 in that game.
The Dutch outfit shipped four in their last Europa League away game against Zrinjski Mostar in Bosnia and look vulnerable for the trip to Villa Park.
Emery will likely field a strong side, as he has done in previous Europa Conference League games, and a positive response to the Forest loss is expected from the Villans, so we'll back a goal-filled game.
Olimpija Ljubljana vs KÍ Klaksvik betting tips
(Discovery+, 8pm)
KÍ Klaksvik became the first team in the history of the Faroe Islands to register a win in the main draw of a European competition when hammering Olimpija Ljubljana 3-0 a fortnight ago.
That was the Slovenians' third straight Conference League defeat and they are threatening to go out of the competition with a whimper.
Olimpija are yet to even score a goal, part of a wider goal-scoring problem which has seen them fail to score in two of their last three home games.
The home fans at Stozice Stadium haven’t had much to shout about recently with Olimpija winning one of the last seven games on their turf.
Klaksvik arrive in Ljubljana with their tails up after securing a third successive domestic title in the Faroes in October and they are still in with a shout of qualifying for the round of 16.
KÍ have four points from three games and weren’t disgraced in their last European away day, losing 2-1 to Slovan Bratislava. A point from this fixture would serve them well and they could set up conservatively.
The visitors may be able to frustrate their goal-shy hosts and we’re backing under 2.5 goals to land for the fifth Olimpija home game in a row.
Breidablik vs Gent tips
(Discovery+, 8pm)
Gent are top of Group B with seven points after hammering Conference League debutants Breidablik 5-0 in their last outing.
The Belgians are heavy favourites to come out on top again in Iceland and will feel they can take care of business with a minimal amount of fuss, despite a patchy European away record.
Gent are on a four-game winning run across all competitions, while they’ve kept two clean sheets in three games in Europe.
Breidablik, competing in the group stage of a continental competition for the first time in their history, have found the going tough so far and sit bottom of the group without a point.
To make matters worse, they recently missed out on the Icelandic title to Vikingur Reykjavik, prompting a change in head coach.
The new manager is unlikely to have much luck saving Breidablik from another defeat here and the Buffalos are fancied to record a win to nil.
The home side have failed to score in three games and with our final Europa Conference League betting tip, we’re backing a Gent win to nil at 29/20 with Parimatch.
