- Manchester United to win first half – 5/4 with Spreadex
Manchester United must respond against Burnley on Saturday night after suffering another damaging defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
Erik ten Hag’s team have lost three matches in a row (and four of their last five) with pressure starting to mount on the Dutch manager.
Burnley, meanwhile, are still searching for their first win of the season after earning promotion to the Premier League from the Championship and the Clarets must start putting points on the board soon.
Vincent Kompany received praise for leading Burnley back to the top flight in style, but the former Manchester City defender must now prove his credentials in the Premier League.
Football betting sites have priced United as odds-on favourites to win at Turf Moor despite their recent poor form.
Burnley vs Man Utd betting: Hojlund to score
In the latest Premier League odds, United have drifted out to 11/4 for a top four finish – behind Newcastle (2/1) and Brighton (9/4) in the betting pecking order.
But while their recent performances have been well below par, the impact of Rasmus Hojlund has been encouraging.
Hojlund has posed a threat in the three matches he has played for his new team with the young Dane scoring his first United goal in the defeat to Bayern Munich.
He also found the back of the net in the loss to Brighton only for VAR to disallow it after the ball had gone out of play. Nonetheless, Hojlund has given United physical presence in and around the penalty area.
Burnley have conceded more goals than any other team in the Premier League so far this season despite playing only four matches. Hojlund will fancy his chances of notching against the leakiest defence in the division.
After missing the first few games of the season through injury, he is still building up his match fitness, but he will almost certainly start at Turf Moor.

Both teams can expose weaknesses
Manchester United haven’t kept a clean sheet since the opening day of the season, when they were extremely fortunate not to concede in an unimpressive 1-0 win over Wolves at home.
Indeed, United have conceded no fewer than 11 goals in their last four Premier League matches. They have looked extremely vulnerable in defence with midfield issues contributing to Ten Hag’s growing headache. United’s problems are far-reaching.
Meanwhile, both teams have scored in each of the last three Premier League matches Burnley have played. Saturday’s meeting at Turf Moor could see both teams expose each others’ weaknesses.
Neither side has looked particularly solid at the back this season with Burnley and United both ranked in the bottom five for the number of defensive errors leading to goals.
On top of this, United have struggled against opponents who like to press high this season – see defeats to Arsenal, Brighton and Tottenham Hotspur – and this is where Burnley could have some joy with their proactive approach.
Burnley like to pass out from the back, which could also give the visitors some encouragement to press high and force mistakes from the opposition defence, but Kompany also favours a high-pressing approach out of possession.
This could lead to a chaotic encounter so it’s no surprise to see bookmakers go odds-on for both teams to score.

Bet on Man Utd to win first half
A trend has developed for Manchester United in recent matches – Ten Hag’s side started well against Arsenal, Brighton and Bayern Munich before things fell apart.
This trend could continue against Burnley on Saturday night, particularly considering the Clarets have lost the first half in each of their last five matches at home.
Ten Hag’s team have found the back of the net in the first half of three of their last four matches in all competitions and so they could take the initiative against their promoted opponents.
The problem for United has come when they have conceded with one goal usually leading to two and even three as illustrated by recent losses to Brighton and Bayern Munich.
Between Hojlund and Marcus Rashford, United have two forwards who could do damage at Turf Moor even if the latter has been recently accused of selfishness in front of goal.
