India vs Bangladesh betting tips:
- Rohit Sharma Top Match Batter – 10/3 bet365
- Litton Das to score over 21.5 runs – 5/6 Betway
- Jasprit Bumrah to take over 1.5 wickets – 13/20 Unibet
India will be looking to make it four wins out of four in their 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup campaign against Bangladesh in Pune.
Rohit Sharma and his team continued their relentless start to their campaign with an impressive performance to defeat Pakistan in Ahmedabad, re-affirming their status as favourites for the crown in the Cricket World Cup odds.
After Babar Azam and Mohammed Rizwan settled into a rhythm, India fought back with the ball to spark a collapse in the ranks as Pakistan fell from 155 for two to 191 all out.
Sharma unleashed another onslaught with the bat, and although he missed out on a second century in a row, the India captain still put his side on course for victory before Shreyas Iyer and Lokesh Rahul completed the chase with 117 balls remaining.
India can take a huge stride towards the knockout phase by beating Bangladesh. The Tigers have lost two of their three matches, suffering defeats to England and New Zealand after opening with a win over Afghanistan.
Bangladesh could not put enough runs on the board against the Black Caps, who chased down their total of 247 with ease. Shakib Al Hasan’s team had the same batting issues against England, falling well short in their bid to chase down 365.
The skipper picked up an injury in the New Zealand game, adding to Bangladesh's woes ahead of their showdown with the hosts.
Here are our predictions using odds from UK bookmakers.
Sharma to shine once more
Sharma is in prime form at the World Cup. After getting off to a poor start against Australia when he was dismissed for a duck, the India skipper has been dominant in the middle.
He dispatched the Afghanistan attack with ease on his way to a record-breaking century to steer his team to a comfortable win.
Sharma was even better against a more talented bowling line-up against Pakistan, offering the same intensity and scoring rate, smashing his 86 runs from 63 balls.
Sharma has put his team ahead of the rate in the last two matches, and he has the chance to feast on familiar opponents again in the form of Bangladesh. In 16 games against Bangladesh, Sharma has scored three centuries and three fifties at an average of 56.76.
His World Cup record is nothing short of sensational, and another major innings would allow him to position himself to top score at the tournament for the second competition in a row.
We’re backing him to be the top batter in the match at odds of 10/3 with bet365.
Das needs to boost Bangladesh
Litton Das was Bangladesh’s best player in their defeat to England. He provided fireworks at the top of the order amid a collapse at the other end as Reece Topley ran riot.
Das scored 76 from 66 balls, notching seven fours and two sixes. To compete with India, Bangladesh need a player in their top order to come out firing.
Das has proven that he can do it against the holders, although his attempt to cut loose against New Zealand resulted in first-ball dismissal. He cannot afford to make the same mistake against India.
The 29-year-old has a half-decent record against India, averaging 30.50 in 10 matches, notching one century against Sharma’s men in 2018.
His last game against India was a poor one, falling to Mohammed Shami for a second-ball duck. Bangladesh need something at the least from their opener, so we’re backing him to score over 21.5 runs at 5/6 with Betway.
Reliable Bumrah on point again
Bumrah has been a model of consistency for India at the start of the World Cup. He has taken eight wickets in three matches, including figures of four for 39 in the win over Afghanistan.
Bumrah was on his mettle against Pakistan, keeping the runs down and taking the key wicket of Rizwan before he surpassed fifty.
No team has found an answer to his bowling style at the tournament, offering potency with the new ball at the top of the innings and miserly spells at the back end.
The 29-year-old continues to get better with experience and his World Cup record is marvellous, taking his wickets at an average of 17.84.
There’s more to come from Bumrah in the competition and the Bangladesh batters will not relish facing him at Pune where he has taken eight wickets in three ODIs.
With our final bet, we’re taking him to take over 1.5 wickets at 13/20 with Unibet.
Tip: Jasprit Bumrah to take over 1.5 wickets – 13/20 Unibet
