Letter: Slaughter of the Sarajevans

Sir: Malcolm Rifkind, in a broadcast today from Bosnia, said that it was not absolutely certain that the Serbs were responsible for the recent atrocity in Sarajevo. I hope that before initiating air reprisals against the Serbs, the UN is absolutely certain that the Bosnian Muslims themselves were not responsible. The key question is, who wants the intervention of Nato forces and a fatal widening of the conflict?
