LETTER:Pupil and parentpartnership
From Mr Don Foster, MP
Sir: For too long we have focused on the rights of parents and pupils and the responsibilities of schools. At last (report, 6 July), questions are being raised about the reciprocal responsibilities of parents. High- quality education is best provided through partnership between parent and school, both with clear responsibilities.
Yet parents in inner cities must not be used as scapegoats for the Government's failure to provide the resources to ensure that schools are attractive places in which to teach and learn.
Yours faithfully,
Don Foster
MP for Bath (Lib Dem)
