Sir: Old people rarely appreciate what you do for them. Usually, it's too little, or just not right.

Maybe they would be happier if recordings of the coded D-Day messages and ITMA were replayed during the evening on the radio, with a national power cut at 10pm, in order that we may all sit in darkness and enjoy the simulated blackout with steaming mugs of cocoa.
