Letter: Cold turkey

IWAS surprised that having quoted Peter Ritson, who co-founded the Council for Involuntary Tranquilliser Addiction (CITA), saying that he felt "chemically lobotomised" when taking Benzodiazepines, you then said "sudden withdrawal leads to two to three weeks of symptoms". In fact, as Peter explains in his book, he experienced many months of horrific symptoms and it was several years before he felt completely recovered.

It also amazes me to read that Temazepam is only a problem in small pockets in Scotland. I can assure you that it is a problem all over Britain, as the workers on our helpline will verify.
