Letter: Advocacy of force and free speech

Sir: In a democracy all groups should be free to express their opinions; open debate is far more effective in fighting lies than censorship. What a pity that someone like Paul Foot should have forgotten the old truth that if an argument is correct, there is no excuse to ban its expression and, if false, no need.
