Footage has resurfaced of the moment Sir Bobby Charlton was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement award at Sports Personality of the Year 2008.

The football legend passed away aged 86 on Saturday 21 October, and tributes have been pouring in from fans and fellow sports stars on social media.

Soon after news of Sir Bobby’s death, a video of him being honoured with the Lifetime Achievement award was shared by the BBC.

The prize was presented by his brother, Jack Charlton.

“Bobby Charlton was the greatest player I’ve ever seen, and he’s my brother,” Jack said, to a clearly emotional Sir Bobby.
