Partygate report on Boris Johnson is ‘attack on free speech’, slams former Tory party chair

Former Conservative Party Chairman Jake Berry has slammed the Partygate report as “an attack on free speech” and “an absolute disgrace”.

Speaking on Good Morning Britain, the MP for Rossendale and Darwen added: “If the Committee is so certain and happy with their findings, why are they trying to stop any debates in this and gag MPs?”

His comment comes after the Privileges Committee officially found that Boris Johnson misled Parliament and MPs over parties that took place at Downing Street during lockdown amid the coronavirus pandemic.
