Aslef chief claims striking union hasn’t seen transport secretary for over six months
Aslef chief, Mick Whelan, has warned how long train strikes could go on for, and claims he hasn't seen or spoken to the transport secretary in almost six months.
The union has warned they won't be working overtime from 3 July and 8 July, which could bring serious disruption, particularly around Wimbledon tennis tournament.
“We’re going to take action until someone listens to us", he told Kay Burley on Sky News.
“If we have to whistle in the wind for five years, ten years, twenty years, to get someone to the table, this will be resolved at some point, and somebody will talk to us properly at some point.”
Strikes have been ongoing for 14 months.
