Sunak reveals he’s ‘a fan’ of popular romance novelist: ‘You need escapism in your life’

Rishi Sunak has revealed Jilly Cooper is one of his favourite authors, saying that he enjoys her books because “you need to have escapism in your life”.

The prime minister was quizzed on his reading habits by Alison Hammond and Craig Doyle during an interview on This Morning on Thursday 25 May.

“She’s done lots of different books,” Mr Sunak said.

“You need to have escapism in your life... whether it is the TV you watch or the books you read. That’s a good thing.”
