High-tech product releases announced the week ending April 21 include a high-priced watch from luxury design company Devon, HTC's Droid Incredible smartphone, the Leica V-Lux 20 compact digital camera, the Samsung Reality smartphone, and Sony Ericsson's new Zylo and Spiro Walkman phones.

A luxury timepiece for those that like their minutes on conveyor belts
California-based design lab Devon Works, LLC has released the first product in its forthcoming Tread 1 range of motorcycles, fashion and fragrance. The luxury company has patented an intricate system of revolving "time belts" for this unique timepiece. Minutes and hours are displayed as the complex system of time belts changes position. The watch is entirely developed and manufactured in the US and offers a modern, "never-seen-it-before" design for consumers that like to be noticed. The Tread 1 timepiece will retail for $15,000 and is expected to go on sale in mid-2010.

An "incredible" Android-powered smartphone that knocks the socks off the Nexus One
HTC's Droid Incredible is the successor to the hugely popular HTC Droid. The Android-powered device is a powerful smartphone contender with many reviewers saying it is a better device than Google's Nexus One. The device features the latest version of HTC's "Sense" experience - a home screen that provides users with seven pages of interactive widgets for easy navigation. There is also support for Exchange ActiveSync, and access to more than 30,000 apps through the Android Market. The Incredible comes with a Qualcomm 1GHz Snapdragon processor, an 8 MP camera with LED flash, VoIP calling with Skype, aggregated social networking updates, an optical joystick for navigation, a 3.7 inch 480 x 800 capacitive touch display, proximity and light sensors, digital compass, GPS, and WiFi. HTC's Droid Incredible will go on sale in the US on April 29. The device will be priced at $199.99 (after a $100 mail in rebate and a subscription to a two-year contract).

A feature-rich compact camera that will geotag your photos
Leica's compact digital camera, the V-LUX 20 is a 12.1 effective megapixel device with a powerful 12x optical zoom lens. The camera will geo-tag your photos on the go with its built-in GPS and lets you record HD quality movies. Technical specs include a high-performance LEICA DC-VARIO-ELMAR 4.1-49.2mm f/3.3-4.9 QSPH zoom lens with a focal range of 25-300mm, a three inch LCD display, a microphone, and special features like the ability to display the names of 500,000 famous monuments and sites in 73 countries, face recognition, automatic scene modes and GPS tagging. The camera will be available in the UK from May 2010 for a price of £495 (€570, $760).

A smartphone with customizable widgets
Samsung has announced the release of its Reality smartphone, a device that sports Samsung's TouchWiz UI (user interface). The Reality is built around "specially designed" widgets that allow customers to personalize their device. The included widgets enable consumers to keep in touch with their social networks, upload photos to the web, post their videos on YouTube and link to their favorite websites in one click. The device comes with a three-inch 240 x 400 touchscreen display, a horizontal slide-out QWERTY keyboard, full HTML web browser, a range of messaging options, a 3.2 MP camera with night shot mode and on-board photo editing, video capture, Bluetooth, and a microsSD card slot for cards up to 16GB. The Samsung Reality will be available April 22 in the US for $79.99 (after a $50 mail-in rebate with a two-year contract).

Two affordable phones that will have you dancing to your music
Sony Ericsson's new Zylo and Spiro phones offer on-the-go Walkman features in affordable devices. Cash-strapped consumers can have the benefits of a great mobile music experience and social networking features without breaking the bank. The Zylo lets consumers keep playing music in the background while they chat on the phone to their friends. A slightly stranger feature of the device lets users listen to background noise soundscapes - presumably for those that want to imagine they are walking down the street or still working at the office. Tech specs include a 3.2 MP camera with 2x digital zoom, 2.6 inch 240 x 320 screen, geo tagging, photo and video web uploading, video recording, Bluetooth stereo, web browsing, social networking features, and support for Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync. The Spiro comes with a slide-out keypad, a 2.0 MP camera with 2x digital zoom, a 2.2 inch 240 x 320 display, video recording, Bluetooth stereo, web browsing, social networking applications, FM radio, media browser, and memory card support for up to 16 GB. Both devices will be available in selected markets from Q3. Official pricing is yet to be announced but both phones are said to be "affordable."
