Wenger's last orders
Arsene Wenger, the new Arsenal manager, will curb players' drinking in an effort to end the scandals that have afflicted the club. The Frenchman will insist his players only drink on their days off.
Wenger said: "I will not ban beer completely, because one pint helps relax people. But I do not want the players drinking 15 beers, because that is bad. A footballer's body is his work. If he then destroys that with bad habits like drinking, it's silly. My players will have to change their social habits."
After the publicity surrounding Paul Merson and Tony Adams' alcoholism, Wenger is determined to focus attentions firmly on the pitch.
