Accompany the tournament hosted by India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, the mobile game has been developed by Mumbai's Synqua Games, and will be available for BlackBerry and Nokia phones.
It's even being offered as a free download to Blackberry owners in India.
The news came shortly after ESPN followed the official ICC Cricket World Cup iPhone App with its own dedicated ESPNcricinfo app for Android and iOS phones.
Mobile developer Apppli are just one among many companies distributing free Cricket World Cup 2011 news apps for the Android market.
For console gamers, International Cricket 2010 on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 was one of six nominations in the British Academy Video Game Award's sports category, announced on February 15. The International Cricket Captain series is aimed at PC players.
