Your support makes all the difference.The Milk Race opens on Sunday afternoon with a prologue time trial in Royal Tunbridge Wells and the race, in its 36th edition, returns to Kent after a break of 32 years. On Monday, the 17 teams, each comprising six riders, set out on the first of 12 stages, finishing this year in Manchester on Sunday, 12 June, and with three consecutive mountain stages in North Wales and the Peak District, the 1,150- mile Milk Race will be a stern test of the riders' stamina. Conor Henry, who won the race last year at his first attempt, returns to defend. Representing Ireland, he will be wearing the No 1 shirt.
Where to watch: Sunday: Prologue time trial (2.3 miles) Royal Tunbridge Wells (first rider 1pm): Mount Pleasant Road start and finish, High Street, London Road, Nevill Street, Warwick Park, Rodmell Road, Frant Road, London Road, The Station. Monday: First stage: Royal Tunbridge Wells (start from Town Hall, 10am) and back, via Tenterden (10.50), Ashford (11.19), Sissinghurst (noon), Goudhurst (Brenchley and Wrotham Hill), Brands Hatch motor racing circuit (1.15pm), Sevenoaks (1.40), Penshurst (2.09), Royal Tunbridge Wells Town Hall (finish, 2.25).
