This election is still a dead heat, according to most polls. In a fight with such wafer-thin margins, we need reporters on the ground talking to the people Trump and Harris are courting. Your support allows us to keep sending journalists to the story.

THE final two international horse trials of the British season, at Burghley in Lincolnshire, and Blenheim in Oxfordshire, take place next month.
The Burghley Remy Martin Horse Trials, from 2 to 5 September, have been brought forward a week to avoid clashing with the European Championships in Achselschwang, Germany. The domestic feast continues a fortnight later, from 16 to 19 September, at the Blenheim Audi International Horse Trials, now in its fourth year.
Burghley is, with Badminton, the most senior horse trials in Britain. First held in 1961, the trials take place in the grounds of Burghley House, an Elizabethan building little changed since its completion in 1587. The Blenheim event is held in the park at Blenheim Palace, finished in 1722.
