Paul Konchesky has signed a new contract with Charlton which will keep him at The Valley until 2005.

Hibernian are to reduce the amount of seats available to away fans next season by 1,200 in order to make the south wing of the Main Stand a home end.

The former Celtic winger, Brian McLaughlin, released by Dundee United at the start of this week, is to join Wigan on 1 July under the Bosman ruling.

Lothar Matthaus, the veteran German midfielder, is to leave Bayern Munich this winter to play in the United States. The 38-year-old has signed a deal with the New York/New Jersey MetroStars.
