INDIA gained a 59-run first-innings lead over New Zealand on the third day of the one-off Test at Hamilton. Mohammad Azharuddin, India's captain, was the top scorer with 63, during which he passed 4,000 Test runs. Danny Morrison, with 4 for 52, was the pick of the New Zealand bowling attack.
