John Pretlove, the former Kent batsman, was yesterday named as the county's president for 1999.

Roy Booth, who won a championship with Worcestershire as their wicketkeeper, is to succeed the former England batsman Tom Graveney as the club's president. The 72-year-old will take over the role if members approve a committee recommendation at the New Road AGM in February.
