THE PRESIDENT of the Argentine FA, Julio Grondona, will meet officials of FIFA, the governing body of the world game, in Zurich next week to try to break the deadlock over Napoli's refusal to release Diego Maradona from his contract. Maradona, whose 15-month worldwide ban for drug use expired at the end of June, has refused to rejoin Napoli, but wants to play for another European club for a year and then return to Boca Juniors, of Argentina.

JORGE BURRUCHAGA, 28, a midfielder in Argentina's 1986 World Cup winning team, has moved from Nantes to Valenciennes, another French club.

TONY VIDMAR, 22, a member of the Australian team at the Olympics, has joined Ekeren, of the Belgian First Division.
