But in the other half of the draw Scottish hopes were dented by a surprising 2- 0 defeat for Glasgow Western by the Lithuanians Taurus Eurovil, with the Scots squandering 16 penalty corners. In the men's competition, Hounslow came from behind to beat Racing Club, of France, 2-1. Nick Gordon scored their equaliser in the 17th minute from Rob Thompson's pass and three minutes later set up Thompson to give Hounslow a lead they defended after the break.
