Spain World Cup team receives heroes’ welcome at Madrid victory parade
Spain’s Women’s World Cup champions received a heroes’ welcome as they arrived home to a victory parade on the streets of Madrid.
Fans lined the streets of the Spanish capital as the victorious team celebrated with on an open-top bus.
They lated took to a stage where the players sang with the crowd and tossed match-winner and captain Olga Carmona into the air.
Spain beat England 1-0 to win the World Cup. It is the first time they have won the competition since its inception in 1991.
