Your support makes all the difference.Marc Rosset, of Switzerland, who retired hurt during his Davis Cup tie against the Dutchman Jacco Eltingh in Geneva yesterday, will be out of the game for around three months. Rosset, the Barcelona Olympic champion, has broken a bone in his right foot.
He had been leading by one set to love and was 2-3 down in the second set when he retired after twisting over on his right foot as he ran for a forehand volley during a service game. Sobbing with pain and disappointment before his home crowd, Rosset was forced to concede the match and limped off court.
Rosset will be replaced by Lorenzo Manta, ranked 236th in the world, in today's doubles with Jakob Hlasek. His replacement for tomorrow's reverse singles has yet to be named.
The World Group tie stands at 1-1 as Hlasek later beat the Netherlands' Richard Krajicek 4-6, 6-1, 6-3, 6-4.
