Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. The Grand National takes place this Saturday and to add to the fun, we've created an easily printable sweepstakes kit.
All the instructions on how to use it are included. So what are you waiting for? Print it off and challenge your friends and colleagues. Good luck!

Once you've picked - why not check out our horse-by-horse guide to all 40 competing at Aintree and see if you've picked a favourite or a likely faller.
The race at Aintree will start at 4.15pm and will be shown live on Channel 4.
A TV audience in excess of 10 million is expected to tune in for the spectacle that's often likened more to a lottery than a race. In addition, there will be 70,000 roaring on the maximum total of 40 runners at Aintree racecourse.
At this stage, the favourite is Shutthefrontdoor, partially due to strong rumours that it will be ridden by AP McCoy in the jockey's final Grand National before retirement. Rocky Creek and Balthazar King are among the other early contenders.
