Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

2.30: Fast ground, a light weight and the return of Tony McCoy look a winning formula for the diminutive NORTHERN STARLIGHT, who was so brave in landing the Tripleprint Gold Cup at Cheltenham in December. He ran far better than final placings suggest behind stablemate Majadou at the Festival.
3.05: Not a well-contested race for the money, and though on his old form the classy Paddy's Return would pick these up and carry them, he has been well below that this season. The upgraded handicappers TEAATRAL and Galant Moss make more appeal, with preference for the former based on his having a more progressive profile.
3.40: ALABANG is well handicapped on his best form and is of definite interest in the light of a promising seasonal reappearance at Sedgefield, although he has since been a conspicuous disappointment at Sandown. Today's faster ground will be to this pacey sort's advantage though. Well-weighted Real Estate is twice a winner here and is a threat, as is unexposed winning novice Premier Generation. Warm Spell has more to do after his last-time- out second at Lingfield, though today's shorter trip is in his favour.
