John Edwards, who sent out numerous winners of top jump races from his Ross-on-Wye stables, is returning to full-time farming, he announced yesterday.
In 29 years as a trainer, Edwards had a career-best total of 78 winners in the 1988-89 season, but last term he managed just 10 successes.
His most notable victories included Pearlyman's back-to-back Queen Mother Champion Chase wins at the 1987 and 1988 Cheltenham Festivals.
