Milan came from behind to win their fourth Italian League title in five years yesterday by beating Fiorentina 3-1 at the San Siro stadium.
Goals by the Yugoslav Dejan Savicevic and the Italian internationals Roberto Baggio and Marco Simone earned the victory which took Milan to 70 points and an insurmountable nine-point lead over the defending champions, Juventus. Milan have now won Serie A 15 times, second only to Juve's 23.
The Nigerian winger Finidi George scored a hat-trick as Ajax clinched the Dutch league for the third consecutive season by beating Willem II Tilburg 5-1.
